"Here you can view your credit score using a variety of SavvyMoney web-based tools designed to help you better understand your current credit health and make smart decisions with your money.

How does SavvyMoney work?

How does SavvyMoney put together my report?

SavvyMoney gets members' credit histories from Experian, one of the three major credit reporting bureaus. It then uses a credit scoring model developed by the three major credit bureaus to provide a picture of your credit health.

Will my SavvyMoney score be the same as reported by each of the three credit reporting bureaus?

No. The three major credit reporting bureaus — Equifax, Experian, and Transunion — use two scoring models to determine credit scores, using more than 200 factors. So, no two scoring models are identical, yet all provide a picture of your credit health.

How often is my credit score updated?

Monthly. When you log in to STCU online banking, you'll see the date that your credit score was last updated, along with any changes since the previous update.

How does SavvyMoney keep my financial information secure?

When you sign up for your credit score, the information you provide is used to retrieve your credit report data directly from Experian. Once this information is received, it is never shared with anyone outside of SavvyMoney. SavvyMoney is certified by McAfee SecureTM, TRUSTe, and Norton Secured to ensure your personal information is kept secure.

Will STCU use SavvyMoney Credit Score to make loan decisions?

No. Your SavvyMoney score is confidential information that is not shared with STCU.

If STCU doesn't use SavvyMoney Credit Score to make loan decisions, why is it being offered?

STCU is strongly committed to financial education, including a good understanding of credit health. We believe this new tool help members manage their credit, to qualify for the lowest possible rate when it's time to borrow for a home, car, or other needs.

Will accessing SavvyMoney hurt my rating?

No. An excessive number of "hard" inquiries - those used by lenders when you apply for a loan - to the three major reporting bureaus can lower your score. Checking SavvyMoney is a "soft inquiry," which does not affect credit scores.

Once I start using SavvyMoney, can I change my email address or other personal information?

Sure. Just go to the SavvyMoney menu bar and select the drop-down arrow next to your name. Next, choose Profile, which will direct you to your personal information, where you can make changes.
