President/CEO Ezra Eckhardt

President/CEO

Ezra Eckhardt is our president and chief executive officer. He is a fifth-generation Spokane resident with a record of community service. A distinguished graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and Army veteran, Ezra is the fifth person to take the helm of STCU since the credit union was founded in 1934.

Board Chairwoman Dolores Humiston

Dolores Humiston

Chairwoman

An STCU member for more than 30 years, Dolores joined the STCU board in 2009, bringing a strong background in organizational administration.

Dolores is a 2001 graduate of Leadership Spokane, and holds a bachelor's degree in recreation/business administration from Eastern Washington University, and a master's degree in education administration from Gonzaga University.

Dolores is a member of the Whitworth University president's cabinet, as associate vice president for human resources.

Vice Chairman Chris Morlan

Chris Morlan

Vice chairman

Chris, who owns a local architectural firm, joined the STCU Board of Directors in 2013.

A former Lewis and Clark High School teacher and cross-country coach, Chris ran in the men's marathon trials for the 1996 U.S. Olympics team.

Now, he coaches post-collegiate athletes as part of the Spokane Distance Project.

Chris holds one bachelor's degree in education from Eastern Washington University, and another in architecture from the University of Idaho.

Terri Alvarado

Terri Alvarado

Terri, who was elected to our board in 2013, has a broad background in business and is president of TMA Business Consulting Services LLC.

She holds an associate's degree in paralegal studies from Spokane Community College, a bachelor's degree in business finance from Eastern Washington University, and an MBA from Gonzaga University. Terri is a graduate of Leadership Spokane.

Terri is a member of Toastmasters, and the MBA/Macc Alumni executive board. In summer, she can be found boating on Lake Coeur d'Alene.

Catherine Brazil

Catherine became an STCU member as a teen, and joined the board in 2014.

Dedicated to community service, she's currently on the boards for Hutton Settlement, Salvation Army, CCS Foundation, and the Honor Point Museum. She also is active with Greater Spokane Incorporated.

Catherine is a third-generation Husky, with a degree in political science and art history from the University of Washington, as well as a master's degree in international management from Whitworth University. These days, she wears two shades of purple: One as an STCU board member, and the other as regional director of government and community relations for UW.

Robert Loomis

Robert Loomis

Serving since 1992, Bob has remained on the board because he cares deeply about STCU's commitment to members and the community.

A retired Spokane Community College professor, he is general counsel for Sterling International, Inc., a local manufacturer. After receiving his bachelor's degree in political science and education from Washington State University, Bob earned a master's degree in history from WSU; a master's degree in international management from Whitworth University; and a law degree from Gonzaga University.

Bob is a volunteer climbing instructor for the Spokane Mountaineers, and has a lifelong passion for rock and ice climbing.

Nick Leute

Nick Leute

Nick joined the STCU board in 2014. He is director of strategic consulting for member experience and high reliability at Kaiser Permanente of Washington.

He has served the community in a variety of capacities, including the Washington Rural Health Association, WSU Health Policy & Administration Advisory Board and the Washington State Healthcare Executives Program Committee.

Nick holds a bachelor's degree in pre-med and a master's degree in health policy and administration, both from Washington State University.

Nick has volunteered for the Shriners Hospitals for Children, House of Charity, and Junior Achievement. He enjoys traveling, mountain biking, and family time.

Mike Rennaker

Mike Rennaker

When elected in 2011, Mike became the first person to serve simultaneously on the STCU Board of Directors and Audit Committee.

The owner of Rennaker Financial LLC, he works as a financial advisor and investment manager. Mike has worked as a consultant in business strategy, marketing, and technology. His volunteer work includes serving with Boy Scouts of America, the World Affairs Council, and coaching youth and adult sports.

Mike holds a bachelor’s degree in business and international trade from the University of Washington, and an MBA in international business and marketing from the American Graduate School of International Management.

Wally Stanley

Wally Stanley

A longtime member, Wally became an STCU board member in 2003 because he wanted to give back to the credit union.

During his 36-year career with the Central Valley School District, he started the district’s first speech therapy and special education programs, and served eight years as superintendent. Now retired, you’ll often find him on a golf course.

Wally double-majored in speech and education at Washington State University. At Eastern Washington University, he earned master’s degrees in those same fields, in addition to an administrative certificate.

Steven Jones

Steven is a Rogers High School graduate and Spokane attorney, who joined the STCU board in 2018.

The collegiate distance runner, and later competitive marathoner, has devoted years of community service to Bloomsday, the YMCA, Spokane Sports Commission, Spokane Park Board, Spokane Public Schools Foundation, Parasport Spokane, and other organizations.

Steven holds an economics degree from Stanford University and a law degree from the University of Washington. He currently practices law at Eymann Allison Hunter Jones P.S. Prior to becoming a lawyer, he directed YMCA Camp Reed for two years.

Audit Committee Chairwoman Kathryn Dobson

Kathryn Dobson

Chairwoman

Kathryn joined the Audit Committee in 2015, after 15 years as an STCU member.

She has a bachelor’s degree in business administration and management from Washington State University, and has completed the Volunteer Certification Program through the Credit Union National Association.

Kathryn works as lead bookkeeper for Spokane Public Schools, and has been active in the Beta Omega Chapter of Delta Gamma.

Lisa McCann

Lisa McCann

Lisa has extensive experience in audit and forensic accounting and works in brand protection with the legal team of Avaya, a global business communications firm.

A certified public accountant, certified fraud examiner, and certified internal auditor, she holds bachelor’s degrees in international business and Spanish, as well as an MBA, from Washington State University. Lisa has been an STCU member for more than 20 years and joined the Audit Committee in 2017.

Kevin Spohr

Kevin Spohr

Kevin became a member of STCU in 2008, when he needed a loan for a pickup that could navigate that winter’s deep snow.

He became an affiliate member of the STCU Board of Directors in 2010 and joined the Audit Committee in 2015.

Kevin holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Washington State University, and an MBA from Gonzaga University. He is an Eagle Scout who works as the director of accounting at Nuvodia, part of the Inland Imaging family of companies. He is a certified public accountant in the state of Washington.
