Additions are part of a years-long build-up of business and commercial teams.

[july 2, 2024]

Charlie Drader is the new VP-Director of Commercial Business Development, based at STCU’s Tri-Cities Commercial Center, 9001 W. Tucannon. Rudy Mendoza is a new Commercial Banking Officer.

They bring to the credit union a combined 38 years of commercial and business banking experience, and deep ties to the Tri-Cities, Yakima, and Eastern Washington.

Drader joins STCU as a seasoned commercial banker, having led teams in business lending, portfolio management, and credit analysis at the executive level. An Eastern Washington native, Charlie earned a bachelor’s degree in business from WSU. He was most recently with Umpqua Bank.

Mendoza brings a varied skill set to the credit union, with experience in manufacturing, sales, municipal administration and utilities, construction, military contracting, and banking, most recently with Umpqua Bank. Rudy holds a bachelor’s degree from Gonzaga University and an MBA from Seattle University.

Drader and Mendoza are an important part of a build-up of STCU’s business and commercial divisions, which has been a strategic priority for the credit union since 2016.  The credit union’s growing team of commercial bankers is well equipped to help larger businesses with more complex needs, offering robust point-of-sale solutions, cash management and payroll tools, and commercial loans for a wide range of projects.
