This fire season, STCU is offering low-interest loans to members who are directly affected by area wildfires and other natural disasters. The credit union would like to remind its members affected by the Kaiser Canyon fire that these loans are available through October 31, 2026.
The 2.99%-annual-percentage-rate loans are available in amounts up to $10,000, with no payment due for 90 days. Individual amounts and terms will vary, and all loans are subject to approval. Anyone who joined the credit union before June 22, 2026, can apply. Members are instructed to call STCU at (509) 326-1954 to begin the loan process, or to visit the nearest branch. More information is available at stcu.org/wildfire.
“We know many of our members and employees facing uncertainty and potential loss during these fires,” said STCU President and CEO Lindsey Myhre. “These loans are one way we can provide support during a difficult time and do what credit unions do best—help people and strengthen our communities.”
In past years, STCU offered similar relief loans to members affected by wildfires in Medical Lake, Elk, and Malden, Wash.
