Greater Spokane League high school gyms are receiving an LED-powered boost from new, state-of-the-art video boards, courtesy of STCU.
[september 19, 2024]
The boards, each of which feature sharper images, deeper colors, and brighter displays, operate as score boards or video players with full audio. They also have a customized truss and frame, featuring each school’s colors, name, and logo.
In addition to providing in-game information, the videoboards include a curriculum package so communications and media classes can gain hands-on experience with design technology to create in-game announcements and other custom content. Schools have the option of selling media spots to businesses for additional revenue.
Additionally, these boards will highlight messages of sportsmanship. As a sponsor of GSL’s August Sportsmanship Summit, STCU is happy to support this positive messaging.
“The GSL and STCU are long-time partners in sportsmanship and citizenship, and we’re thrilled to contribute to the league’s great athletic legacy with these displays,” said Traci McGlathery, STCU’s VP - Director of Community Impact and Advocacy. “We remain close to our roots in education, so we’re particularly excited about the potential for these boards to be used as a tool to develop students’ design, communication, and IT skills while improving the fan experience.”
So far, Ferris, Lewis & Clark, North Central, Rogers, Shadle Park, Central Valley, Ridgeline, University, Mead, and Mount Spokane High Schools have received the new displays, with more area schools slated for future upgrades.
