Samantha Harper was recently named Vice President of Risk Management at the Spokane, Wash.-based credit union. She was previously Financial Crimes Manager.

Harper joined STCU’s compliance team in 2015 with more than six years of experience in teller and manager roles at other financial institutions. She received her Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Western Governors University in 2018, covering costs through the tuition reimbursement program offered to any STCU employee who wants to further their education.

Harper will oversee STCU’s Risk Management, Financial Crimes, and Compliance teams, who collectively identify, assess, and mitigate risks to the credit union, monitor regulatory compliance, and combat fraud.
