New branches to follow in Coeur d’Alene and at Spokane’s Lincoln Heights.

[december 30, 2025]

STCU will kick off the new year by opening a new branch location to serve fast-growing North Side neighborhoods in the Mead area. Two additional branches are also in the works.

The 3,470 square-foot Mt. Spokane Branch, which opens January 7, is just off the roundabout, near Spokane’s North Side Costco. Near both U.S. Highway 2 and the North Spokane Corridor, it is a handy location for many members who currently use STCU’s North Spokane, Indian Trail and Northtown Square branches.

The two additional branches are:

  • In Spokane, at the northeast corner of 29th Avenue and Mt. Vernon Street at Lincoln Heights. This location will provide a third option for STCU members who use STCU’s South and Moran Prairie branches. It is tentatively scheduled to open in late 2026 and is expected to go out to bid in the first half of the year.

  • In Coeur d’Alene, a new branch at the corner of Kathleen and Highway 95, adjacent to Coeur d’Alene Charter Academy. It is tentatively scheduled to open in late 2027 and will be STCU’s sixth branch in Kootenai County.

Every day, tens of thousands of STCU members access their accounts through online banking and the STCU Mobile App. Still, visiting a branch is fundamental to the member experience.

Since the start of this decade, STCU has more than doubled its branch network to 50. (Mt. Spokane will be the 51st.) That has included moving into rural communities throughout eastern and central Washington, and eastern Oregon. Meanwhile, the credit union continued to fill gaps in Spokane and Kootenai counties by opening its Rathdrum, Medical Lake, Argonne and Hayden branches in 2020 and 2021.

Celebrating the Mt. Spokane Branch

STCU will host a grand opening celebration for our new Mt. Spokane Branch from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, January 21. Anyone is welcome to drop by for the celebration.
The branch, which opens January 7, is at 1734 E. Renshaw.

“These three new branches are strategically located to provide options in some of our busier neighborhoods,” said Chris Severin, STCU Senior Vice President of Retail. “They’ll be convenient for many of our members.”

Assistant Branch Manager Oresto Best will lead a team of five at the Mt. Spokane Branch. Raised in North Spokane, Best started his STCU career eight years ago as a teller at the credit union’s North Branch.

Janell Pavlica oversees the Mt. Spokane, North, and Indian Trail branches, with the title of AVP North District Branch Manager. A Mead High School graduate and North Side resident, Pavlica has worked at STCU since 1997.

Benardo Wills Architects (BWA) designed the branch. Elmer Construction was the general contractor.
