On Wednesday, the Spokane-based credit union will open its 40th location, the Penn Plaza Branch, at 1035 N Stratford Rd. The branch is the first in Moses Lake for STCU, a not-for-profit financial cooperative serving consumers and businesses.

The 2,905-square-foot branch will include two drive-through lanes and two ATMs. It will be a convenient, in-person option for STCU’s Columbia Basin members, including nearly 4,000 in Grant County, who currently are served by branch locations in Othello, Coulee City, and Coulee Dam.

STCU membership is open to anyone who lives, works, attends school or worships in Washington, North Idaho, and Eastern Oregon. Because they’re able to maintain their membership even after moving to other regions, STCU members live in all 50 states and many other countries.

“We’ve long had a faithful base of members in Moses Lake, many of whom joined while living in Spokane. They used online banking and the STCU mobile app and other tools to access their accounts, and stopped by a branch when they came to Spokane on visits,” said Ezra Eckhardt, STCU’s president and CEO. “We’re excited to see them more often at the Penn Plaza Branch.”

Spokane-based ALSC Architects designed the building; Richland, Wash.-based CTC Construction is general contractor. In addition, STCU is building separate, 3,000-square-foot office building adjacent to the new branch location.

Kerrie Petersen will be the Branch Manager. Sarai Barreras Araiza will be Assistant Branch Manager.
