What is Voice ID?

Voice ID is a secure way to verify your identity using the sound of your voice.

Everyone’s voice has unique characteristics. Voice ID captures those traits to create a digital voiceprint so you can access your accounts over the phone quickly and safely.

How does Voice ID work?

When you call, the system listens to your voice and builds a secure voice profile in the background. So then, the next time you call, your voice is compared to that profile.

If everything matches, you’re authenticated without needing to answer a long list of security questions.

Your voiceprint will be taken every time you call unless you opt out.

What if I don’t want Voice ID?

You can absolutely opt out if you don’t want to use Voice ID authentication.

You can contact us or let our member service representative know the next time you call.

Is Voice ID secure?

Yes. Your voiceprint is protected with strong encryption and stored securely. It cannot be turned back into an actual recording of your voice. The system is also built to spot fraud attempts and block anything suspicious.

Why is Voice ID helpful?

  • Quicker verification.
You get through security faster with fewer questions.
  • Stronger protection.
Your voice is extremely difficult for someone else to copy, which adds a strong layer of security.
  • Convenience.
You don’t have to remember passwords or PINs. Your voice does the work.
  • Fraud detection.
Voice ID can detect unusual activity and block suspicious attempts, including fake or computer-generated voices.

How are you enrolled?

Enrollment is automatic and only happens during a call with one of our member service representatives.

As you talk, your voiceprint is created automatically. There’s nothing special you need to prepare or say.

Who can use Voice ID?

Most members are auto-enrolled as long as they have a phone number on file and can speak clearly during the process. If you are unsure whether you qualify, our member services team is happy to help.

What if my voice sounds different?

Voice ID is designed to recognize you even if you are dealing with a cold or your voice changes a bit over time. If you ever have trouble authenticating, we can help you re-enroll or use a different verification method.

Why might I still get security questions?

You may still be asked security questions at certain times. This can happen during your first call, if your voiceprint is not fully enrolled, or if the system detects unusual activity on your account.

These extra steps help keep your information safe.
