Frequently asked questions

What’s the difference between the mobile app, mobile-friendly site, and full site?

The mobile app can only be used on Apple iOS 6+ and Android 2.3.3+ mobile devices. The mobile-friendly site can be accessed at http://my.stcu.org/mobile, using your web browser on most phones, tablets, and other mobile devices. With the exception of mobile deposit, the full online banking site supports all features and can be used with most devices, though the best experience may occur on your laptop or desktop computer.

Does the mobile app work without an Internet connection?

No, your mobile device must be connected to the Internet to use the STCU mobile app. The mobile app provides round-the-clock account access anywhere your mobile device is connected to the Internet.

What kinds of checks can I deposit using the mobile app?

Our mobile deposit can accept most domestic checks, including personal, business, and payroll checks. However, please be aware of these limitations: Mobile deposit is unable to accept foreign checks, third-party checks, substitute checks, traveler's checks, and checks older than six months. In addition, checks with uncommon formatting style -- such as amount or payee name situated in an uncommon location, or superfluous characters (e.g., extra $$ symbols) located around the amount field -- will not be accepted. When will my mobile deposit funds be available?

In general, deposits made before 4 p.m. PT on business days will be processed later the same day. Deposits made after 4 p.m. PT or on non-business days will be processed the following business day. The first $500 of funds will be available by 4 p.m. of the same or following business day; the remaining amount will be available two business days following the day it is processed. More

If I lose my mobile device, will my account information be safe?

For your security, the STCU mobile app protects unauthorized access by never storing your online banking username and password. STCU recommends you monitor your accounts closely if your device has been lost or stolen.

Why do I need to perform my first-time login on my computer?

The STCU mobile app connects to STCU's new online banking system, so your account needs to be set up first on the new system. Online banking registration requires a computer with a web browser; some mobile devices may support these additional requirements.
