Listening can make a difference.

Sometimes, when Rick Harris is shopping, someone will call out, "Hey, Rick, remember me?"

They'll tell him that by listening, encouraging, and setting an example, he made a difference in their lives, when maybe things weren't going so well. Rick wouldn't trade his current job working with kids at the West Central Community Center for the one he thought he wanted, playing professional baseball like his dad.

"You don't always get what you want," Rick says. "But if you work hard and you're positive, good things will happen."
