Step 1: Get prequalified.*
It's easy to apply to get prequalified at STCU.* If accepted, this will show how much "house" you can afford and signals to sellers that your offer is serious. Start your application online or call our Home Loan team at (844) 347-3898.
Step 2: Make and accept an offer.
We recommend you hire a licensed Realtor® or other expert to help you determine the value of the property, structure a good offer, and negotiate your purchase.
Step 3: Home inspection.
A home inspection helps protect you from unseen issues before you buy the home, such as water damage, faulty HVAC or wiring, a leaking roof, and pests.
Step 4: Appraisal and underwriting.
An independent appraisal verifies the value of the property. Meanwhile, STCU verifies your contract details, orders title insurance on the home, and handles regulations and other paperwork.
Step 5: Closing.
This is the day you sign legal papers to close the deal.
Step 6: Move in!
Congratulations! You are now a homeowner. Tell the boss you have to go home now.
