Shopping is easier and more secure when you pay from your phone or other device with a free digital wallet service.

The services described below can safely access your available STCU debit or credit card accounts, without sharing your card numbers or personal information with merchants.

How to set up

Please follow the instructions below for help in setting up a digital wallet on your type of phone. If you need assistance setting up your digital wallet, call STCU during regular business hours at (800) 858-3750. 

NOTE: Access to STCU debit card accounts is not yet available on Samsung and Android phones. Services can change at any time, and STCU cannot guarantee or accept any liability in connection with the use of digital wallet services.

 


 

Apple Pay

Open the Wallet app on your device and follow the steps to add your STCU cards to Apple Pay. (Can also be added from your iTunes account.) If prompted, call STCU at (509) 326-1954. You also may receive a mailed letter confirming your card setup.

Using Apple Pay

1) Look for the Pay Wave® or the Apple Pay symbol at the checkout stand. Hold your phone near the contactless reader.

2) Place your finger on the Touch IDô to authorize your payment.

3) Keep your phone by the reader until it vibrates and beeps. This indicates that your payment was accepted.

Apple Pay will work with iPhone SE/6/6 Plus, and later; iPad Pro/Air 2/mini 3, and later; Apple Watch, and Mac OS Sierra.

Yes, Apple Pay is also available in these countries.

Android Pay

If your phone doesnít come with Android Pay preloaded, download the app from Google Play. If you already have a card in your Google account, you can add it by confirming a few details, or you can add a new card as simply as snapping a picture. If prompted, call STCU at (509) 326-1954. You also may receive a mailed letter confirming your card setup.

Using Android Pay

Android Pay currently only works with STCU credit cards. Debit cards are expected to be supported by summer 2017.

1) Look for the Pay Wave® or the Android Pay symbol at the checkout stand. Hold your phone near the contactless reader.

2) If prompted, choose "Credit" regardless of your type of card.

3) You also might need to enter a PIN depending on what card you are using.

Samsung Pay

Open the Samsung Pay app on your phone and follow the steps to set up the app, including choosing a personal identification number (PIN) or authorizing your fingerprint. You can also add cards by using the camera or entering them manually. If prompted, call STCU at (509) 326-1954. You also may receive a mailed letter confirming your card setup.

Using Samsung Pay

Samsung Pay currently only works with STCU credit cards. Debit cards are expected to be supported by summer 2017.

1) Swipe up or open the Samsung Pay app.

2) Authorize with your fingerprint or pin.

3) Hold your phone over the card reader or next to the magnetic stripe card reader.

Where can I use Samsung Pay?

Samsung Pay can be used in more stores than any other mobile payment service because it supports both magnetic card readers and Near Field Communication (NFC). This means that if you can use your credit or debit card, chances are you can use Samsung Pay just as easily.

Is Samsung Pay available internationally?

Yes, Samsung Pay is also available in Australia, Brazil, China, Korea, Puerto Rico, Singapore, and Spain.

MasterPass

STCU MasterPass is an online shopping service that stores your payment and shipping information in one convenient and secure place. You simply shop, click, and check out, with no cards to carry, no billing forms to fill out, and no fees to pay.

Visit the STCU MasterPass website, click "Sign up" and follow the prompts. Youíll receive an email welcoming you to Masterpass. Log in to the STCU Masterpass website and adjust your cards, shipping addresses, and preferences.

Using MasterPass

1) When checking out, just click or tap the "Buy with MasterPass" button to be taken to the MasterPass website.

2) Select STCU as your digital wallet and sign in to your MasterPass account.

3) Select your card and shipping address and complete your purchase.

What STCU accounts may I use with MasterPass?

MasterPass can be used for purchases with your STCU Debit MasterCard and MasterCard credit card accounts, including STCU Rewards cards. You can also make purchases with your American Express®, Dinerís Club, Discover, and Visa®, regardless of which bank or company issued the card.

Which devices can use MasterPass?

STCU MasterPass works on modern web and mobile browsers including Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Internet Explorer 11+. Tablet and mobile devices running either iOS 6+ or Android are also supported.

General questions

Is a digital wallet secure?

Yes. Digital wallet services do not send card numbers with your payment, eliminating the threat of your private data being shared or stolen.

Is there a fee to use a digital wallet service?

Every digital wallet service mentioned on this page is free to use with your STCU credit or debit account.

What will digital wallet purchases look like on my monthly statement?

Purchases using a digital wallet service typically look like card purchases on your statement, with one exception: Android purchases may be listed as AdrdPy, GOOGNFC, Mobile Purchase, or Mobile wallet.

Are my credit card purchases protected under "zero liability"?

Yes. Whether you use a digital account number or a physical credit card, you are protected by the issuing card company's zero liability against fraudulent transactions on your credit card.*

What if I lose my phone?

If your phone or other device is ever lost or stolen, you will not need to cancel your card, but only the digital wallet account number, which can be quickly reissued by the provider.

What if my STCU card is lost or stolen or needs to be replaced?

If your STCU debit or credit card is lost or stolen, call the credit union immediately at (800) 858-3750. We also have after-hours and international numbers.

For any new or replacement cards, you would go through the initial set up of providing the basic payments details to add the card to your digital wallet provider.
